Nativity Set

Do you remember this picture from this post?

Well now those blank pieces of wood have been painted and assembled into this:

I used some rough wood, and I didn't sand it extremely well. I like the little bit of character still left in the wood.

I painted everything before gluing them together.  I used regular craft paint, and just mixed the colors I had to make the colors you see in the picture. I then glued the heads (found in the small wood section of craft stores) to the blocks using wood glue-let them dry a few days.
After, I wrapped the set with raffia (found in the floral dept at Walmart) and tied a bow. When I brought the raffia home, my daughter asked if she could see me try on my new grass skirt.....awkward

I made a number of nativity sets to give out to family and friends. Now if I could figure out how to ship them without any incidence of breaking...but I also realized that the small flat rate boxes from USPS aren't big enough to mail a Nativity set and other presents to family....I'm off to find a bigger box that wont cost much more to ship.

Are you shipping any presents this year? Who is the best 'company' to use (UPS/USPS/FEDEX)? I appreciate your input!
