Impromptu Puppet Show

We decided it would be fun to have a Puppet Show last Saturday evening at our house (just the three of us). We pulled out Lilly's hand puppets she received from Aunt Jayn and set her and Preston up behind one of our couches (for the theater feel).

Daddy helped Widget out with the puppets.
Awe, sweet loves.
I think each puppet 'took a nap' at some point in the show...

Preston was creating dialogue for the puppets, but when Lilly took over it all turned into sing-songy giggles, grunts & sighs...I'm not sure why a child with a large vocabulary creates musicals, for lack of a better term, when she knows someone is watching.

Curtain Call...
Then when Daddy was done, I let Lilly use my side of the recliner as her stage
It's always cute to hear the things she comes up with-even if there are no words...ha

What funny things have your kids done lately?

Fun with Friends

So Lilly went to a water park on Saturday, called Oceans of Fun, with some new friends in our neighborhood. The family has 3 kids, two girls (school age) and one boy (6 months younger than Lilly).
These pictures are of Lilly already to go. She was practically bouncing off the walls, inside, just waiting for this adventure:)
Swimsuit? check
Sunscreen applied? check
Flip flops? check
Towel? check
Swim Diaper? check
Water bottle? check
We ended up switching out the b/w bag with her tiny pink backpack just before her ride arrived, but you get the idea.

On another note, the quiet boy from said family will be at our house about two days a week while his mom works. So be prepared to meet Z in later posts describing our little adventures & big messes!

I Love to See the Temple

Another stop on our NC agenda was The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints Raleigh Temple.
This is a great clip of President Thomas S. Monson (President & prophet of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints)describing the importance of Temples.

The outside was made of a beautiful marble, which had a slight stripe...a little different from other Temples we've seen.
It had some amazingly vivid flowers on the small quaint grounds.
And a glowing Angel Moroni
And gorgeous blue sky :)
(taken while sitting in the the parking lot)

AND some really bizarre tourists...

(trying to show off his HUGE muscles...I think)

He is cute! I think I'll keep him...just sayin'

Out of Town-ers No More

Preston & I just got back from North Carolina on Thursday evening (plane landed in Wichita). We stayed the night at the in-laws house (they watched Lilly for the week) then drove home on Friday.

We are glad to be back home, but it was nice to have a vacation...I mean, I was on vacation-Preston was actually working. I am glad that I was able to meet him 'on the road' instead of him leaving us behind.

While in Raleigh/Apex, NC, we did just a tad of sight seeing. Here is one of our adventures.

The Raleigh Municipal Rose Garden

This rose garden is set on a charming six-and-a-half-acre hilly site behind a theater of North Carolina State University-A great article about these gorgeous flowers can be found HERE.
At one end of the garden stands a huge trellis covered with few blooms (this time of year) but LOTS of thorns...
If you have not already guessed, us Chandlers are can be a little bit strange (to say the least)

Some of the awesome blossoms :)

Both Preston and I L.O.V.E. white roses.

"One of these things is not like the other..."

Got to love me some pinks!

And a cute out door stage

With cute pointy flowers planted in the orchestra pit

Do you grow roses?

Me & my Sisters

Lilly and I had the Sister Missionaries from our ward over for dinner on Monday night. While I was finishing preparations on the food, Lilly was giving a tour of her room. One of the Sisters ran downstairs to her bag to grab a camera, so I knew I needed to get mine, too. I arrived to find Lilly giving the other Sister a ballet lesson at the ballet bar (in her room).

Lots of fun when you involve tutus
& tiaras
Many giggles
