Faithful Friday

Like I mentioned in the previous post, I am having computer problems-so I will be posting on my phone for a few days (hopefully not much longer). Anyway, typing on my iPhone gets a little tedious, so I will be keeping my posts short.

This week I've been thinking a lot about my New Years One Word Resolution/Goal…which is FAITH. I came to the conclusion that the best way to increase my faith would be to testify or talk/teach to others. Thus, my child and her friend Z (which I babysit a couple of days a week) became my guinea-pigs.

At lunch on Wednesday, I decided I had listened to too many toddler quarrels. I pulled out my phone and read through the first lesson manual for the Primary (the children's group of my church) and used the lesson as a conversation guide.

The lesson was on knowing our Heavenly Father. I asked the kids who Heavenly Father is, and what we know about Him. We talked about the reason we are on Earth and why it's so important to have bodies and grow up-which, by the way, produced the funniest comments from the kids (which i wish i had written down) BUT I think we had some Ah-Ha moments (for me and the kids). It was a good experience, and I plan to continue to talk about Jesus and His gospel with kids at least once a week…and if I wait to do it during lunch, they have to pay attention to me-nothing else is really very interesting in between bites of peanut butter and honey sandwiches.
Everyone wins :)

How is your resolution(s) coming along?

  1. We started reading family scripture at breakfast. Works great too. Everyone knows that they can't talk while someone else is talking and their mouths are full anyway! Plus, it doesn't allow them to whine or complain about their food because I'm not listening, I'm talking :)

Thanks peeps for reading Apples By Ashley!
I love hearing from my lovely blog Stalkers, so please do not be afraid to leave a comment, make a suggestion or ask me a question below.
