Making Leggings

I picked up a pattern for some cute leggings from Lil Blue Boo, grabbed one of my husband's old polo shirts and my trusty scissors...and went to work.

The leggings turned out really cute...and I made them too big. I then had to 'take them in' without unpicking every stitch I lovingly sewed with my new machine.  Widget loves the fact that the pants are made from one of her daddy's shirts. She was quite pleased to tell him she was wearing his clothing when he came home from a business trip.

The navy leggings were actually the second pair I'd made. The first (made from some gray knit with red lobsters screen printed on it) was a bit small, so I sized up...which ended up way too big. But, the third pair was about right :)
Sorry I don't have a picture of Widget wearing these yet, but the fabric choice is growing on her.
And the fabric just happened to match the bracelet I was wearing the day I made the leggings.
All in all, I'm excited to be able to make some leggings for Widge in the future, to match every skirt she owns. What sewing projects have you been working on lately?

  2. Thanks Michelle for the Feature!

As for your growing boy, try sewing a couple of shirts together for the length-this would require cutting the shirts apart first, but would make an awesome patch-y look :)

    Thanks again!
