Coming Up for Air

Today is the first time I feel like I've been able to come up for air because of the many things that have happened in my life over the last 2-3 weeks...I apologize for being MIA for the last while, I've really missed blogging and sharing with my sweet Stalkers :( And, if you follow blogs on Google Reader, you may know what it's like to log on and see 250 unread blog posts-it was a new experience for me, and I felt a little lost ;)

Since I last posted: I have packed up our house in Missouri, met the hubby to vaca in Florida, cruised to Grand Bahama island and back to Florida, arrived home in Missouri only to drive to Kansas to pick up our diva child from my in-laws' house, drove the car back to Missouri to park (for a long stay), then caught a plane to Puerto Rico carrying a total of 10 bags (including Widget's backpack, my purse/computer, my sewing machine, hub's computer, clothing, crafting supplies, etc.)...And yes, it was as exhausting as it sounds!

My hubby and I also need to 're-train' Widget to follow rules, adhere to bedtime more strictly, and that whining is not allowed (all characteristics she magnified while living with Grandma and Grandpa for 11 days-do your parents/in-laws spoil your children mercilessly, too?), but we are together as a family permanently (for the foreseeable future) and it's a great place to be!

Now that we are almost settled into our place in Puerto Rico, I have finally found the time to sit down and blog (obviously). I plan to catch you up on the happenings of our life, 'old' crafts from this last month, and future crazy adventures...along with anything else I come up with (have to leave myself a little room to grow, right?).

I thought I'd share just a few pictures, from the past month, that have yet to be posted....randomly, in no special order:
Grandma made this flannel board for Widget last Christmas. Widget likes to use my I-spy fabric squares to 'quilt' on the A-frame, which includes lining the fabric up across the board in a row, then layering fabric squares diagonally at the intersections of the base row. It's quite entertaining. She is also wearing another dress I made her from a Jr's skirt. Look for a mini tutorial in a future post :)
My white, shiny (from 50 spf sunscreen, mind you), legs sitting in the cruise ship's lounge before de-boarding onto Grand Bahama island. Check out the Ca-Ute shoes I picked up from Dillard's before the trip!
I pushed Widget in a 5K that took place near our Missouri home. This is a picture of us at the half way mark. She is only happy because some random mom also pushing a stroller gave her (and her cousin Kenna) a sucker. It was fun to train for the run (which I walked 90% of the way), but I found out that I have severe allergies to the pollen/mold in the Kansas City area...I could hardly breathe for a week, and I was thinking I came down with a very unpleasant sinus infection (it was that bad of a reaction). I wish I could have gotten a picture of me a couple hours after the race, because my eyes where very swollen and apparently I looked awful (according to a friend I saw at the grocery store while buying drugs)...who wouldn't want to see that?
Ta-ta for now, my dear Stalkers! I can't wait to catch up with you later :)
