New Jewelry from Clearance Necklace

One day, while Widget and I were shopping at the Outlets during the Hubs day at work, we stopped into GAP. I found a sweet necklace on the clearance rack...it had 13 12 emerald cut smokey glass beauties closed by a gray ribbon. Although one of the beauties was missing it's stone...I knew it wouldn't matter so much when I ripped the necklace limb from limb....or really joint from joint.

So that is just what I did. I took the necklace home, and I took all the jump rings apart to separate all the pieces. See the tag (below)-I only paid $2.97 for this awesome necklace.

Then I took a single gem thingy, attached chain to either side, put a clasp in the back, and now it's a lovely simplistic necklace. And, I hung two gems from short pieces of chain and attached them to earring hooks.
Now I have a a simple matching jewelry set to wear for date night!

And, since there were 12 total gems on the original necklace, I was able to make a total of 4 necklaces,
1 pair of earrings, and have 6 gems leftover for other projects....and an empty gem setting I have no idea how to use at this time ;) Plus I still have the gray ribbon closures to upcycle later.

And I'm also wearing this bracelet with my new necklace and earrings. Have you tried any jewelry conversions of your own? If you need ideas, check out my other jewelry conversions here, here, and here.
