Here is another Tasty Treats Tuesday recipe, and a treat theme...January has turned into Muddy Buddy Month! And whether you call this type of snack Muddy Buddies or Puppy Chow, the tastiness and ease of this treat makes it irresistible! Today's version is great for your Super Bowl XLVIII Party: Delightful Mint Puppy Chow
- 9 cups Chex Cereal (I used a mix of Rice and Corn cereal)
- 1/4 cup Milk Chocolate Chips
- 2 cups (entire bag) Andes Crème de Menthe baking chips
- 1/4 cup butter or margarine
- 2 cups Powdered Sugar
InstructionsPour measured Chex cereal into a large bowl.
In microwavable bowl, microwave peppermint crunch baking chips, butter, and milk chocolate chips on High for 1 minute.
Stir. Microwave again for about 30 seconds (or until mixture can be stirred smooth).

Pour cereal mixture into large re-sealable plastic bag with the powdered sugar. Seal bag and shake gently to coat the cereal/chocolate mixture with sugar. Once cereal/chocolate mixture is well covered in powdered sugar, pour contents of bag onto a cookie sheet lined with wax paper.
Once cool, pour into a fun serving dish and set in front of your friends...or store in an airtight
container to enjoy at a later time.
And while your yummy creation looks lovely (and before little fingers start sneaking pieces), maybe take a picture...then you can let everyone else know how masterful you are at making delicious and pretty snacks (instagram anyone???). You can also check out a video (posted by Mandy) of me making this Delightful Mint Puppy Chow:
I borrowed Mandy's kitchen to make my treats and she, in turn, took videos and pictures of me during the creative process...
Even the baby bump made an appearance in a handful of pictures...to be honest, it's getting to the size that it's hard to miss ;)
AND our Play Group (moms and kids alike) couldn't stop eating this snack when I shared it with them last week...
If you are a fan of mint, or munching on something new, I hope you give Delightful Mint Puppy Chow a try!
