Here is another Tasty Treats Tuesday post, and my last Muddy Buddy Month recipe! Whether you call this type of snack Muddy Buddies or Puppy Chow, the tastiness and ease of this treat makes it irresistible! Today's version is a great snack to chase away your winter blahs while whisking you away to a beach somewhere, you might even want to slip into your flip flops for this tasty treat:  Key Lime Pie Puppy Chow
Key Lime Pie Muddy Buddies

Ingredients
  • 3 cups Cinnamon Chex Cereal
  • 3 cups Vanilla Chex Cereal
  • 3 cups Rice Chex Cereal
  • 1 3/4 cup white Chocolate Chips
  • 2 tbsp Key Lime Juice
  • 1/4 cup butter or margarine
  • 2 cups Powdered Sugar

Key Lime Pie Muddy Buddies

Directions

Pour measured Chex cereal into a large bowl.
In microwavable bowl, microwave white chocolate chips, butter, and key lime juice on High for 1 minute.  Stir. Microwave again for about 30 seconds (or until mixture can be stirred smooth).
*white chocolate chips do not melt at the same temperature as semi-sweet or milk chocolate chips; take caution when microwaving so you do not scorch your chocolate

Next, pour mixture over cereal, stirring until evenly coated.

Pour cereal mixture into large re-sealable plastic bag with the powdered sugar. Seal bag and shake gently to coat the cereal/chocolate mixture with sugar. Once cereal/chocolate mixture is well covered in powdered sugar, pour contents of bag onto a cookie sheet lined with wax paper.

Once cool, pour into a fun serving dish and set in front of your friends...or store in an airtight
container to enjoy at a later time.

And viola! Key Lime Pie Puppy Chow

And while your yummy creation looks lovely (and before little fingers start sneaking pieces), maybe take a picture...then you can let everyone else know how masterful you are at making delicious and pretty snacks (instagram anyone???). You can also check out a video (posted by Mandy) of me making this Delightful Mint Puppy Chow:

I borrowed Mandy's kitchen to make my treats and she, in turn, took videos and pictures of me during the creative process...

Even the baby bump made an appearance in a handful of pictures...to be honest, it's getting to the size that it's hard to miss ;)

AND our Play Group (moms and kids alike) couldn't stop eating this snack when I shared it with them last week...
